Buying And Installing A Tanning Bed Bulb

November 22, 2008

When exposing your skin to the UV rays of the sun, your body produces skin-darkening melanin. A tanning bed bulb causes the exact same result as they also produce UV light. It takes considerably less time to produce a deep tan because you don’t have to spend two or three hours in the sun. A home tanning bed offers you the convenience of spending only a few minutes to achieve the same result. This article explores how bulbs work, when to replace them, how to choose the right ones, and how to best install them.

Why You May Be an Ideal Candidate for a Tummy Tuck

November 21, 2008

The ideal candidates for a tummy tuck are patients in relatively good physical shape, but have excess skin or fat in the abdominal area. They may have tried exercise, but to no avail. No amount of exercise will reduce the amount of excess skin in the tummy area or elsewhere on the body. This condition requires a more direct approach to the problem.

Another ideal candidate is the patient that lacks laxity of underlying muscles due to pregnancy, which makes it very difficult for these patients to return their abdominal area to a flat appearance. For these women, the skin and muscles have stretched beyond the point where they can naturally return to their normal location and shape. Exercise may slightly improve, but will not satisfactorily correct the damage to the muscles and abdominal wall.

How Celebrity Culture Is Driving Hair Replacement Therapy

November 21, 2008

In an increasingly image conscious world it seems that the list of available treatments and products aimed a making you look good grows longer by the day. And whereas they might once have been aimed mainly at women, the list now includes many aimed specifically at men.

Facials and massages designed for men as well as hair removal, waxing and skin peels are all now widely available in most towns and cities. Even minor surgical procedures are no longer considered taboo subjects for men. Botox injections and the odd nip or tuck, it seems, are as commonplace as a moisturizing.

How to Prevent Skin Aging

November 21, 2008

Much to most women’s chagrin, time takes it toll on skin. Aging shows itself in the form of tiny lines and wrinkles, a dull complexion, and sometimes circles under the eyes. Every woman has a different genetic code, so there is not really one cure all for aging skin. We know that as a person ages, the inner layer of their skin starts to thin, and becomes less elastic. There are, however, many things we can do to reduce or slow the signs of aging. Science has made great strides in recent years to unlock the magic of young looking skin. Our skin also begins to lose collagen. This is more visible on the parts of our skin which is thinner, such as around the eyes.

It is not only women who need a skin care regiment. Although many people consider lines in a man’s face to look distinguished, there are men who would prefer not to have them. However, a male’s skin has a different composition than a female’s. Men have oilier skin, in general, which causes the aging process to act differently for them, than for women.
