Services Available at a Fertility Clinic
October 7, 2008
For some couples, a gynecologist or urologist will be able to resolve their fertility issues quickly and easily. For others, a diagnosis or solution may be much harder to come by. This is often the time when couples will turn to a fertility specialist to answer their questions and provide the right treatment.
Finding a fertility clinic can be a step closer to a healthy baby for many couples. These facilities are usually set up to address a broad range of fertility issues, ensuring that the large majority of couples will see success through diagnosis and treatment at these locations. Most of these clinics can work with both the husband and wife on diagnosing and treating medical conditions that are getting in the way of a successful pregnancy – providing state of the art testing and procedures for even the most complex problems.
How to Choose the Best Fertility Clinics
October 7, 2008
When a couple is facing an infertility diagnosis and treatment, choosing the right clinic is an important element in making the process as easy and painless as possible. Since most couples are not prepared for the emotional and physical toll that infertility can take, they may not realize that there are choices in treatment, doctors and clinics. By taking the time to take control of this very important decision, a couple can increase their odds of successfully surviving the process.
Fertility clinics are available across the country, so most couple will be able to find at least a couple in their area to consider. It is a good idea to read a book or two before beginning the interview process with clinics, since a little background information will go a long way in ensuring a couple gets the type of care they are hoping for. This will also provide the opportunity for a couple to discuss the process together before getting a doctor involved. That way, they will know exactly how far they are willing to go with the process and they will have a good idea of certain procedures or philosophies they may want to steer away from.
Facts About Florida Endocrine Surgery
October 7, 2008
Endocrine surgery is a highly specialized field that concentrates on glands of the body like the adrenal, thyroid and parathyroid glands. When treatment is required in one of these glands it is important to learn the basics of endocrine surgery, since education is the first key to success. Some of the facts about this field of medicine might be surprising.
Finding an Endocrine Surgeon
Since endocrine surgery is still a relatively uncommon field of medicine with only about 200 endocrine surgeons nationwide, it is possible that endocrine surgery will be performed by a general surgeon rather than an endocrine specialist. In fact, the large majority of endocrine surgeries that are done in this country every year are done by surgeons who spend only a small portion of their time working in this area. While this may be a source of concern for some, the fact that these surgeons perform the bulk of the endocrine procedures leave patients little choice in who will perform their surgical procedure.
Finding a Doctor For Your Infertility Treatment
October 7, 2008
Most couples believe that when the time comes to start a family, conception will occur right on schedule. However, for one in every seven couples, this is simply not the case. When pregnancy doesn’t happen as quickly as one would expect, it may be worthwhile to see the doctor.
When to Make an Appointment
The general guideline for when to talk to a doctor about infertility treatment states that if a couple under the age of 35 has actively tried to get pregnant for one year without success, it is time to make an appointment. If the couple is over the age of 35, that time frame is reduced to six months. It is also a good idea to visit a doctor if three miscarriages have occurred in a row, since this can also be a symptom of a fertility problem. Some couples will also make an appointment with a doctor before this checkpoint if they are concerned there may be a problem, although many doctors will not begin any sort of workup or treatment until the couple has been trying to get pregnant for these set amounts of time.
